Brethren, Happy New Years all! I hope that you all had the opportunity to enjoy the holidays with your loved ones. I know that in the current Covid-19 conditions things were a little different for everyone this past year. During the year we have had limited meetings, postponed degree work, and we’ve lost 27 brethren, but as Masons, I hope that you were each able to find the Light in all this darkness. There have been several opportunities to be industrious in the community, lend a tentative ear, and spread the cement of brotherly love to those in need. The month of December was a slow month for use since we were not allowed to meet in person per the Grand Master’s edict. We held a virtual stated meeting to conduct normal business. Once the Grand Master’s new edict came out, we opened a Special Meeting at the conclusion of our pre-inspection meeting with the District Deputy. The District Deputy brought the Type Written Ritual with him and those in attendance had a wonderful ritual education experience. The month of January things look to be picking back up where we left off. We have our Annual Inspection which will be held in the Entered Apprentice Degree on Monday January 11th, 2021. All members of Jefferson Lodge are allowed to attend the inspection. There will be no meal prior to the inspection (no meals before any meeting per new edict). The degree will start promptly at 7pm. The last two Mondays of the month will be putting on Entered Apprentice degrees for new candidates. Since there will be no traveling allowed to other lodges at this time, I would like to point out that the District and Grand Lodge will be hosting several virtual education events. Be sure to check the Second Masonic District’s website and Facebook for event dates and times. I’m glad that we are back to being able to meet in person, I look forward to seeing each of you again. I would like to remind everyone that if you do plan to attend lodge please only do so if you feel safe in doing so, you are not presenting with any illness/symptoms, and know that we are still mandating masks until the Ohio Department of Health’s guidelines change. I look forward to serving you this year as the Worshipful Master and representing the BEST Masonic Lodge around!
Fraternally yours,
Worshipful Master, Michael A. Miller, R.S.S
